More reasons to enjoy your coffee

Whether it is the caffeine fix or not, many of us enjoy more than one cup of coffee a day - just look at the number of cafes and specialist coffee venues there are these days. But let us look at some of the positive reasons for drinking this nectar!!!

Prevents Cholesterol
According to a Study in the British Medical Journal, coffee helps prevent clogging in the arteries.. And  US team found women drinking a cup a day can slash the risk of stroke by up to 25 per cent!!

Can reduce risk of Heart Disease
A Portuguese, study found that drinking three to four cups daily cut the risk of heart disease. In the US, Harvard University researchers found that low consumption of coffee and deaths from heart-related diseases illnesses are linked.

Reduces risk of dying
Researchers at Harvard found three to five cups of coffee a day could stop you heading to a an early grave. It also found that it reduces the risk of neurological diseases such as Parkinson's.

Protects the Brain
Coffee makes you feel more alert - although scientists are still unsure how it actually helps maintain brain function. Dutch research shows coffee slashes the risk of developing Alzheimer's by 20 per cent.

Cleans Teeth
Coffee breath can actually be a sign of clean teeth. Scientists at Rio De Janeiro's Federal University found that coffee breaks down bacteria which causes plaque. Drinking it could slow down or prevent tooth decay.

Helps you Heal
Coffee is shown to speed up the healing process, helping faster recovery from operations and wounds. A 2012 German Study found drinking just 100ml three times per day helped patients recover from bowel operations faster.

Lowers Diabetes risk
Having just one cup a day cuts the risk of Type 2 Diabetes by 11 per cent, researchers from Singapore found. A US study found three to five cups a day could also help diabetics stabilise their sugar levels.
