How many times do you hear people say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day? And how many people ignore that?  Here is one reason why you should indulge.

People who skip breakfast are two and a half times more prone to heart attacks and strokes, say experts. The one in three adults who say they do not eat breakfast - for whatever reasons - are more likely to scoff junk food and eat more later.

Missing breakfast also hits hormone balance and body clocks, damaging overall health.

Spanish and American scientists tested 4000 people and found that those who skipped breakfast were 2.6 times more at risk of clocked arteries - the top cause of heart disease.

HMHB promotes breakfast - and people should have choice. Lazza is a big fan of porridge, which is a slow release carbohydrate. Remember, the word breakfast is literally "break" "fast". You have not eaten for several hours. Your body is therefore crying out for an energy hit to help you launch into the day.

Many cereals these days have sugar - in fact when I was growing up ("mumbles" back in the 70s) it was given that here was a sugar bowl and full fact milk with breakfast (some cereal packets even included sugar on the box). Then came sugar covered cereals - then chocolate (what were they thinking???).

It's not the skipping breakfast that makes you unhealthy - it's the replacement nutrition you use to give you the energy.  We will cover that more in a different blog entry.
