Crash diets are not good for you - research

Image result for crash diets dont work

Many of us have done it - decided we needed to lose weight, and it has to be done quickly. Then it has all gone wrong.  A steady "tortoise and hare" approach to weight loss is more likely to succeed, research has shown (obviously being the tortoise).

"Hares" who went on crash diets lost less weight over two years than "tortoises" who shed a consistent amount each week, a study of 183 people found.

Bigger fluctuations in the first six to twelve weeks led to poorer weight control, 12 months and two years later. Researcher Dr. Emily Feig, of Drexel University, United States, said: "it seems that developing stable, repeated behaviours is important for maintaining changes in the long term."

HMHB promotes a healthy lifestyle and routine. This study is just one of many that all conclude it is about patience,, focus and maintaining control.
