Our last blog entry explained:  Knowing how to deal with your feelings and enjoy life, even when things seem overwhelming, is key. If you want to start feeling better about yourself, boost your self-confidence and live the best possible life, the first step is looking at your daily routine and ways you can improve it. We all pick up bad habits, but it is important to realise what they are, remove them, and this can have a huge impact on your mental health.

Here are 3 more ways:

Live your life for you a little more
You have your own targets and goals, and they are important to you. But do you constantly feel like you need everyone to like you, and that then affects you own life? Do you have a hard time saying "no" even if you feel that is the answer you want to give. Are you living your life to please others, or for yourself.
Luke, our colleague, described this perfectly once during our first Ajani. We sometimes feel like we are being selfish when we have our own desires. But he said ""selfish" is not a bad word. Surely it is saying "self-love". We all need to look after ourselves - our physical activity and mental health. Pleasing other people is a wonderful trait to have, but sometimes it can be detrimental to you. It can affect your own self-esteem.
Find your goals, and let others know what they are. If you want to lose weight, then ensure people around you are not eating cakes and sweets, and encouraging you with your meals and fitness. If you want to get outdoors more, find a local group that you will enjoy being around. Surround yourself with positivity. But also, never allow someone else to knock your targets. If it is important to you, then they should respect it.

Be happy with who you are
On our course we talk about the miracle of life, and that we are all special and incredible. Life should be impossible. Seriously, look around you are the world is awesome.
But sometimes, we are so busy comparing our lives against others that we fail to see just how great things can be. This can have a detrimental affect on our confidence and esteem, and is totally self inflicted. We can get jealous of what we people have and how they live their lives. But it is important to focus on yourself.
Naturally if you are unhappy with something, and are able to do something about that, then do so. If you want to lose weight, then aim for that. But do not do it because someone else has.
Whatever you do, just aim to live a healthy lifestyle. Make changes that will make you happier, healthier, fitter and stronger.
How many celebrities sadly admit to mental health problems? Money fame, good looks are not everything. Be happy being who you are.

Take time for you
We are living at a time of huge change with technology and communication - life is hectic and rushed. We all need to sometimes take a little time to relax and enjoy our own company and wind down. Put the mobile away - why do we feel the need to constantly check messages, emails and online news. Will it really effect your life that much? I see people checking their facebook in the cinema during a film? What the hell??
You need to time to chill and relax. That is part of being human, and can be great for your mental health. Find time to disconnect. Listen to some music. Go see a film. Sink into a good book. Melt into a bath!!!  You are all special. Treat yourself!!!
