Crisps can harm unborn babies? Research here

Image result for crisps

All we do is report on this page - and occasionally will have our own say at the end of the blog entry.
We like crisps at HMHB - everything in moderation as they say. But a new study claims that eating too many crisps could harm unborn babies. Really? I think I am going to need some persuading on this one.

Here we go.
Researchers in Queensland, Australia, have come up with this claim. Tests on rats showed high levels of linoleic acid, which is found in crisps, decreased hormones that regulate baby growth. It also affected liver function and increased proteins that cause contractions of the uterus.

Rats with a high linoleic acid diet had fewer male babies!!

We like to publish research, and it can bring out conversation. I would say that they did not say just how many crisps you would have to eat before harm could occur. I would imagine it would need to be pretty high. It certainly will not stop me having a bag of crisps now and then. Just be sensible with your snacks.
